THIRTY-THREE boats will clean the waters of the Balearic Islands during the summer season.The project, which will cost a total of €1.1 million, has been paid for by the Balearic Islands regional government and was able to retrieve 46,913 kilos of rubbish from the sea and beaches during last year.The cleaning work has already started, on May 1, and will continue until September 30.In Mallorca, 15 crafts will be earmarked for the service, which, since it became operational in 2004, has eliminated a total of 1,889 tonnes of waste from the coasts.
