MORE than 40,000 people attended Moll Vell port to participate in the 32nd edition of the Palma Boat Show, which took place from April 30 to May 4.This year’s number of visitors shattered the figures of 2014, totalling almost 36,000. Friday registered the highest amount of participants with 11,000 people, according to the data provided by the event organisers.Economy councillor, Joaquin Garcia, said that this event had become an international point of reference and emphasised the positive results of a private-public collaboration.“Three years ago we decided to stop this fair as it was causing a financial loss for the council, had fewer visitors every year and did not attract enough attention,” said Mr Garcia. “Today, we can say we have heard the sector’s professionals’ requests and have turned this fair into one of the most important nautical appointments in the Mediterranean.”
