Benidorm police feeling the heat

LOCAL POLICE in Benidorm are still patrolling the streets in winter uniforms.
The recent rise in temperatures caught Benidorm Town Council off guard.
They have yet to issue Local Police officers with their summer uniforms and so the Boys in Blue are sweltering.
The Professional Union of Local Police and firefighters, SPPLB, slammed the poor organisation of the council for not issuing summer uniforms despite warnings of early summer temperatures.
The police uniform was changed in November 2014 to all blue and due to this the police have only the old summer two-tone version.
An spokesman for the SPPLB said: “Police officers should be permitted to wear the old-style uniform until they are issued with the new all-blue style.
 El Corte Ingles, the company that won the tender, has been asked to send as many complete uniforms as soon as possible and not to wait until the total order is ready for dispatch.
