JULIO ESPAÑA has announced his retirement from politics aged 68, after 25 years serving the Partido Popular. España has been president of the PP, an Alicante councillor, national deputy and also a territorial senator but has now decided to step aside. He announced his decision accompanied by his daughter Mari Carmen. He said: “My political life has been full of memories and experiences I will treasure. My retirement does not mean I will no longer follow the PP and I will always be here to help but it is time to look to the future, not to the past.”In sharp contrast, PSPV Councillor for Sport and Education of El Verger, Enrique Chover, takes up his post at just 18 years old, making him Spain’s youngest serving councillor.
