FOOTBALL coach Jeff Wood has been appointed Gibraltar’s permanent national team coach. Wood will also serve as coach educator for Gibraltar Football Association.Dave Wilson, interim coach, will return to his position as assistant. Wood has significant coaching experience in the UK for Brighton and Hove Albion FC, Leeds United AFC, Norwich City FC, as well as in Wales, and with Maltese side Sliema Wanderers FC. He was also previously coach for Lions Gibraltar FC.Wood assumes the role with Gibraltar yet to claim a point in the Euro 2016 qualifiers, but in a positive place having scored their first senior international goal against Scotland and aiming for Fifa recognition in order to take part in qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.
