CAN’T wait for the kids to go back to school? Well you will have to wait a week longer now as the Department of Education has officially changed the dates of the beginning and end of the next school year.It was announced previously that the 2015-2016 course in the Valencia Region would start on September 3 for infant and primary school classes, ending on June 17, 2016. This would have been the second year that the course would start in the first week of September with the goal “to promote the reconciliation of work and family life” said the Minister for Education at the time, Maria Jose Catala. However, following changes in power after the elections, new government teams have put back the start date to September 10 for infant and primary classes and September 11 for secondary school pupils, in response to complaints that it was still too hot when school reopened early last year. The school year will finish on June 21 for infants and primary and June 17 for secondary schools.
