AFTER the hottest July in decades, August is proving to be cooler with Saturday’s overnight temperatures being the coolest so far this summer in Alicante Province.
Temperatures were down three or four degrees over previous days which led to a pleasant evening along the coast with thermometers failing to get much above 20ºC on the coast and 13ºC in some mountainous areas, according to the
Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Alicante City recorded 20.8ºC, Benidorm 20.6 and Elche a welcoming 20.2.
The lowest overnight temperature was 12.9ºC Fageca in the El Comtat area.
