Polish man attempts to storm Gibraltar in stolen Guardia Civil vehicle

IN THE late afternoon of Monday February 15, astonished onlookers watched as a man jumped into a Guardia Civil vehicle, start it up, complete a U-turn and then drive it across the border into Gibraltar where it was quickly stopped and the man was bundled out of the car.

It turns out that the man desperate to enter Gibraltar was a Polish national who may have been refused entry earlier that day due to lack of documentation but he was quickly ejected from Gibraltar and handed over to the Spanish authorities, who were no doubt furious that one of their officers should have left his keys in an unlocked car.

All of the action was recorded on border CCTV cameras.
