SPAIN: Offers a surprising array of low cost properties.
EXPERTS have identified Spain as a crucial country for British buyers to keep an eye on in 2016, with the country offering a surprising array of low cost properties without the defects usually associated with bottom of the barrel prices.
The Balearic Islands and Mallorca in particular have been mooted as a top destination for property tourists to consider, with upmarket dream homes available for as little as €200,000.
Two bedroom beach apartments in good areas are going for €235,000, while the market is becoming more and more fluid as expats search for prime homes close to the facilities of Palma, and quality international schools and hospitals.
Coastal location Puerto Andratx, exclusive residential neighbourhood Son Vida, the bohemian Santa Catalina, and the old town of Palma have all seen significant rises in per square metre values.
Meanwhile 2015 saw rural sales increase by a remarkable 50 per cent, as wealthier buyers look for privacy and views across the Sierra Tramuntana.
Elsewhere across Spain, decent rural properties with full amenities have seen prices as little as €50,000.
