BELLO HORIZONTE: Alicante architects visit award winner.

SEVENTY members of Alicante Povince’s College of Architects (CTAA) visited La Nucia to celebrate World Architecture Day.

The Alicante architects chose La Nucia in order to visit the town’s outstanding examples of 21st century architecture.

These include the award-winning Bello Horizonte municipal offices, the Captivador Environmental Education Centre, the Third Age Centre and the University Extension Centre.

They are the work of the Alicante-based Crystalzoo Architecture Studio and all have won international prizes. The latest, the architectural equivalent of an Oscar, was the Architizer A+A award which named the Bello Horizonte offices as the ‘Best Municipal Building of the Year.’

The architects’ guide during the visit was Jose Luis Campos, who helped design the buildings.
