A COMBINED operation between the National Police, Spanish Tax Agency and US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal organisation dedicated to smuggling drugs into Spain and the seizure of 100 kilos of cocaine.
The drugs were found in four back packs hidden in containers that arrived at the port of Algeciras and the seizure was made thanks to advance information which led to the officers of the National Police putting a person from Cadiz under surveillance which resulted in this find.
It appears that two individuals were responsible for removing the packs from the containers whilst a third person intended to take them and smuggle them out of the port area.
In addition to the cocaine, officers also took possession of eight mobile phones and several vehicles.
