Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher, who suffered a cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles, has died at the age of 60.
She was originally taken to UCLA Medical Centre where her condition was said to have been stable on Monday.
But earlier on Tuesday the 60-year-old who played Princess Leia in the iconic first series of films, died in hospital.
She starred in George Lucas’ science fiction epic in 1977, playing the role of the Princess whose home planet of Alderaan is destroyed by the Death Star.
