Two policemen have shot a man after he allegedly attacked them with a machete in central Zaragoza yesterday morning.
The wounded man has been transferred to Hospital Miguel Servet for treatment.
A report of a disturbance in the street at around 4.30am yesterday morning (June 30) was made in a 092 call to National Police.
When the officers arrived on the scene the group fled the scene and the altercation dispersed, however one man fled to a doorway. When apprehended by the officers he reportedly resisted and produced a 40cm machete with which he lunged towards the policemen.
The officers quickly fired a retaliatory shot to the attacker’s legs and incapacitated him.
The man is said to be injured but out of any danger and will be interviewed by police today.
