THERE was a most unhappy holiday surprise in store for Veronica Garcia when she arrived at the home her family owns in Garrucha earlier this week for a summer break, Spanish press reported.
Much to her horror she found the property had been embargoed by a bank’s estate agency and put up for sale, Spanish news reports said.
The locks had been changed, and when Veronica managed to get an ownership certificate some hours later it tuned out the property had been completely emptied out.
“They took everything, even the personal photos”, she alleged.
Veronica told Spanish media the family had bought the second home in Garrucha in 2012 and her parents had stayed there just two months earlier.
The family has registered a complaint with the estate agency, Garrucha Council and the Guardia Civil, press said.
The estate agency was reported to have admitted the embargo was a mistake and that it will be in contact with the Garcias.
