THE final countdown to this year’s Dreambeach has begun.
More than 165,000 electronic music fans are expected to descend on Villaricos next week for what is one of the most important dates in the national music electronic music calendar.
Among this year’s festival features will be a Notre Dame-inspired underground techno music Dreams Tent: a 4,000sqm marquee designed to give more of a clubbing experience, with a 16-metre high interior of gothic-feel geometric shapes and lighting and a ceiling equipped with 300sqm of LED screens.
Some 16,000 ravers will be able dance inside the marquee to music from international DJs like Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Stephan Bodzin, Boris Brejcha, Joris Voorn b2b Kölsch, Nina Kraviz and Charlotte de Witte.
There will also be a swim and dance pool area with music from midday to 7pm in the camping zone, where 30,000 festivalgoers are expected to pitch their tents.
Dreambeach gets going on Wednesday August 7 and runs until Sunday August 11.
