COSTA DEL SOL NEWS: Huge fire engulfs luxury yacht in Marbella

A LUXURY yacht has burst into flames in the Puerto Banus area of Marbella, Spain.

The incident occurred at around 10.15am this morning, when a witness observed black smoke spreading into the air from a yacht harboured on the main pier.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where firefighters battled the blaze for nearly two hours. Early reports indicate that the fire started in the boat’s cabin area.

According to the police, at the time of the blaze there was one person inside the yacht, however they luckily managed to escape before the fire took control of the vessel.

We at Euro Weekly News understand that the rapid response of Marbella’s emergency services prevented the fire from spreading to nearby yachts.
