Top ranking for the Costa del Sol

THE Costa del Sol is one of the best retirement locations in the world, according to US magazine Forbes.

The prestigious publication points to Spain’s “excellent” health service, climate, low crime rates and culture as among the key factors making the country such an attractive choice for enjoying the golden years to the full.

In its report Forbes says: “Sunny Spain is cheaper than much of Europe, particularly a few miles away from the gorgeous coasts and big cities. Healthcare is considered excellent. Crime rate is low.”

It also highlights Bilbao in the Basque country and the Costa Azahar in Valencia as dream retirement locations.
