WORRISOME: The doctor didn't turn up to work following the Christmas break.
Concern grows over a family doctor who disappeared in Manilva. The Guardia Civil of the municipality activated a search for the man with the initials J.P.S.
The Manilva resident whose whereabouts are unknown, was last seen at dawn on Monday. The 54-year-old man had been expected back at work following the Christmas holidays, but he failed to show up.
His family filed a missing person’s report with the Guardia Civil, who are considering all possible hypothesis. However, officers believe that the man could have disappeared of his own free will. Information for the clothing the man was wearing when he disappeared has not been provided.
The search operation was carried out by around 100 people, including the Guardia Civil, a helicopter, police dogs, Manilva Local Police and volunteers. The search party focused on combing the residential area of Sabinillas and the countryside that surrounds the municipality.
The Mayor of Manilva, Mario Jiménez, took part in the search and sent a message of hope to local residents.
