A SERIOUS road accident has arrived at the Euro Weekly News desk this evening to report that a young family were struck by a car this evening in Spain (January 18).
Local sources indicate that a 36-year-old man, 35-year-old woman, 4-year-old boy and 20-month-old child were hit by a vehicle as they were waiting on the pavement to cross a road in Madrid.
The vehicle had been travelling down Calle Vitruvio onto Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz when the driver lost control and veered off onto the pavement, striking the family.
It is understood that the mother and her eldest son were seriously injured in the collision, with the little boy suffering from head injuries. At present, there is no indication on the condition of both the father and toddler.
As Euro Weekly News understands, police officers and firefighters are currently at the scene cleaning the debris and collecting evidence whilst the victims have been transferred to a nearby hospital in the capital.
