Breaking: The UK’s Foreign Office is advising against all but essentials travel to Wuhan because of the coronavirus outbreak in the Chinese city.
Experts have said the outbreak in China could reach Britain because borders are too ‘porous’ to keep the infection out.
It is believed a Chinese city of nearly 9 million people is to temporarily shut public transport. Chinese authorities and state media say close to 500 people have fallen ill and 17 people have died from the disease, which was first identified in China at end of last year and has now spread to five other countries, including the United States. More deaths are expected in the up coming days and the World Health Organisation is considering declaring an international public health emergency.
