The Anejos Workshops end with a high neighbourhood participation in Axarquía

After six intense months, this week the Anejos Workshops have been ended in Axarquía. They were developed in six population centres of the municipality of Motril. In these workshops, handicrafts and yoga classes have been taught and a hundred people have participated.
The objective of these actions has been the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits, improved self-esteem and social participation, as well as personal relationships. And all this within the philosophy of “facilitating the means so that the people of our annexed villages do not uproot from their surroundings,” says the councillor of Anejos Ángeles López Cano.
According to López Cano, “it is important to give these neighbours the same opportunities and our obligation as an administration is to bring services and activities to these citizens”. The monitors of these workshops have been hired through the subsidy program of the Junta de Andalucía for the promotion of the employment of unemployed people over 45, financed with European funds and in collaboration with the municipality of Motril.

In addition, workshop participants met last Tuesday at the Plaza de la Aurora in the event “Los Anejos hug Motril”. The objective of this initiative is to highlight the need to spend time among people in a current society based on new technologies, stress and work.
