The three detainees, whose nationality has not been revealed, resided in the same block of flats in the La Salut neighbourhood, on Calle Calderón de la Barca.
According to police sources, the three dedicated their time to recruiting and radicalising other Muslims. Police decided to arrest them after observing that they were “quite radicalized” and posed as an imminent risk to society.
The operation has started around 4:00 a.m. and ended at around noon. Officers have searched their house, where they seized various materials, including documentation and a computer.
The mayor of Badalona, Xavier García Albiol, thanked the national police via social media National Police “for helping” with their actions today, “so that the residents of these neighbourhoods can live more peacefully”.
