FINESTRAT’S Policia Local will patrol sections of the CV-767 that were formerly the responsibility of the Guard Civil.
This affects the CV-767 between the Las Cabras and Avenida Finestrat but under the new agreement between both forces, the Policia Local will also be responsible for rural roads inside the Finestrat boundary.
“Thanks to our strategic location, job creation, the Bulevar shopping area and the town hall’s administrative agility, Finestrat’s growth over the last 10 years has created a continuous urban strip from La Cala as far as the Old Town,” said Finestrat’s mayor Juan Francisco Perez.
“This has necessitated changes in road and traffic safety affecting the CV-767 and the Policia Local’s field of action,” he added.
The Policia Local will take over between La Cala as far as the roundabouts giving access to the urbanisations, the Bulevar and the principal stores.
The Guardia Civil will continue to police the less built-up area between the roundabout and the Old Town.
