Prince Andrew could be given royal lifeline by the Queen. image: Twitter
The Prince has been living at Windsor for the last five months of lockdown but according to reports, he has visited his mum to discuss the developments in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
A SOURCE disclosed that: “The Queen and Andrew will have lots to discuss. So much has come out over the summer. The Queen wants to be kept informed and she will not be back at Windsor until early October.” The Duke of York had travelled to the Scottish Highlands in July after US prosecutors accused him of failing to assist their investigation into Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
The prince’s lawyers, however, insisted the Duke has repeatedly offered to help them with the case. The US Department of Justice officially asked for Andrew to be handed over to give evidence in a request to the Home Office in April this year. The ‘Mutual Legal Assistance’ (MLA) application bypassed Buckingham Palace and, if approved, could mean the royal is compelled to go to a British court to give evidence under oath as a witness if he refused to cooperate.
British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, a friend of the Duke’s, is awaiting trial in the US after being charged with procuring teenage girls for Epstein to abuse.
