Troubled Hollywood actor turns hero as he rescues a man who inadvertently set himself on fire.
HOLLYWOOD actor, Cuba Gooding Jr, came to the rescue of a man who had accidentally set himself on fire at a special party.
The Hampton’s neighbourhood in New York was the stage of this Hollywood-esque stunt scene where the host of the party caught alight by leaning his back against a lit candle.
Gooding Jr sprang into action, saving the host with his quick thinking and bravery.
Having spent so many years in Hollywood, this may have seemed like a tame stunt in comparison to those he’s seen before, but for the terrified guests of the party, the Oscar winning actor proved a hero by dousing the man with water.
A witness at the scene told Pagesix: “The back of the gentleman’s shirt ignited into flames from a candle that he unknowingly leaned back into while the rabbi was giving the Shabbat prayer.
“The man started panicking and flailing his arms, and guests backed away from the victim – except for Cuba, who ran to the gentleman and doused the flames completely.”
Cuba attended the Shabbat dinner with his girlfriend, Claudine De Niro, in what was supposed to be a peaceful night of prayers, in a socially distanced setting.
The 52-year-old has been in the news recently as he currently faces a criminal trial on misdemeanour sexual abuse and forcible touching charges, stemming from allegations of three accusers, and he was also sued by another woman last month.
