Another SIXTEEN UK areas to enter Tier 2 lockdown

ANOTHER SIXTEEN UK areas to enter Tier 2 lockdown as government battle to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The areas entering Tier 2 are: East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Dudley, Staffordshire, Telford and the Wrekin, Amber Valley, Bolsover, Derbyshire Dales, Derby City, South Derbyshire, the whole of High Peak in Derbyshire, Charnwood, Luton and Oxford City.

Under Tier 2 restrictions, socialising indoors is banned with anyone you don’t live with; this of course includes pubs and restaurants as well as private homes. When outdoors, groups are to be kept to a maximum of 6 and observe national social distancing guidelines.

The move to Tier 2 was announced by Department of Health officials on the afternoon of Thursday, October 29, but no regions have been upgraded to Tier 3.

The move comes after the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) piled fresh pressure on Boris Johnson to impose tougher restrictions as it warned up to 85,000 people could die in a second wave.
