Wonderful news from Manilva. A group of hardworking, talented young skaters from the town are preparing to represent their coastal community at an international level, competing at the prestigious Cerdanya Open in the Pyrenees on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10.

Representing the Costa del Sol

Representing the Manilva Skating Club, four skaters across different levels will participate in the International Artistic Skating Open held in Cerdanya, Girona. Alice Porter (13) and Nicole Kosnikova (8) will skate in Level 4, Martina Flores (12) in Level 3, and Maria Quiros (14) will step up to compete in the demanding Level 2 Elite category.  It is a proud moment for a small municipality.

Cerdanya Open the details

This is an International Artistic Inline Skating Competition organised and overseen by the World Artistic Inline Skating Association, participants join primarily from France and Spain, judged by a full international panel. Competing against skaters from across Europe, the Manilva contingent will need to bring their very best to make an impression at such a high-calibre event.

Manilva Skating Club and Jenni’s Skating Academy

These talented young athletes train at the Manilva Skating Club, part of Jenni’s Skating Academy registered in the World Inline Figure Skating Association (WIFSA). Consistent training and committed coaching have built the club into where it is now, with its team ready to test themselves against others beyond Spain.

World championships in sight

Following the Cerdanya Open, a World Inline Skating Championship is also scheduled, this year moving to Czechoslovakia, giving these incredible Manilva skaters further inspiration as they look to the future of their sporting careers.

The sport has started to build more and more over time, the elegance of figure skating being made accessible to people with inline skating. If you would like to get your skates on and be part of the team, you can find details on the Manilva Skate Academy social media channels.
