Torrevieja is set to celebrate the return of one of its most popular food events as “Croquetting Around Torrevieja 2026” tapas route takes over the town in the middle of May. Now in its incredible sixth edition, the gastronomic route has become a highly anticipated staple of the local calendar, drawing both residents and visitors eager to sample one of Spain’s most beloved comfort foods: croquetas.
Tapas and a drink for just €3.50: Explore Torrevieja’s creative croquetas
Throughout the week-long event, participating bars and restaurants across the municipality will offer a croqueta and drink combo for just €3.50, giving foodies in Torrevieja the chance to enjoy a wide range of flavours while exploring different parts of the city.
Restaurants from Torrevieja will be participating, serving everything from classic recipes to more inventive takes on the traditional snack. Visitors can expect popular options such as chicken, Iberian ham, seafood and oxtail croquetas, alongside more creative and quirky combinations including ingredients like coconut, pork cheek and even sweet varieties for those with a more adventurous palate.
Strengthening tourism and gastronomy in the coastal municipality
Beyond the food itself, organisers are once again adding an interactive element to the experience. Diners will be able to scan QR codes available in participating venues to enter raffles, encouraging them to visit multiple locations – and possibly find new favourites – during the route.
The initiative is promoted by local organisations with support from various sponsors and aims to strengthen Torrevieja’s growing reputation as a gastronomic destination on the Costa Blanca. As well as offering visitors a fun and affordable culinary experience, the event provides an important boost to the local hospitality sector ahead of the summer season.
The return of a highly awaited Torrevieja tapas route
Previous editions of the tapas route have attracted strong turnout and positive feedback, helping to cement Croquetting Around Torrevieja as one of the area’s most anticipated annual food festivals.
Running from May 11 to May 17, with a festive atmosphere, affordable prices and a menu packed with both traditional and innovative croquetas, the 2026 edition is expected to be another booming success for the municipality.
