Sitting on the shoreline in El Rosario, Dune Beach Marbella is exactly the kind of place perfect for long afternoon lunches that slides easily into sunset cocktails. Created by the team behind Ocean Club Marbella, the venue is perfectly protected by sand dunes with gorgeous sea views.
As soon as you arrive you feel calm with a sense of escapism. The decor as you would expect, simple, natural woods, neutral tones and breezy open-air terraces that aren’t trying too hard. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
Fresh ceviche, tempura prawns and sharing plates by the sea
We started with the ceviche, a delicious light dish of butterfish and tiger prawns cured with mango, roasted corn and pomegranate. Tempura prawns, golden and delicately crisp, disappeared from the table almost as soon as they were put down.
Why the Tigre taco is an unmissable dish
There are a few options designed for sharing, we went with the Tiger Taco Experience. You build your own tacos, warm tortillas you could fill with tiger prawns, sweet mango, red onion, coriander, chilli and chutney. A really lovely combination when all put together.
The chicken BBQ sharer was more substantial, comforting grilled chicken to drizzle with peanut sauce comes with coconut rice and other fresh herbs and spices. Wonderfully meaty balance to the lighter seafood dishes. A naughty side of truffle fries finished the meal off perfectly.
Signature cocktails and sunset drinks
The cocktail menu is different and varied but also gives you all the classics you want from a beach club. The Hot Paloma had a spicy citrus kick, ideal for in the afternoon sun, the mojito was refreshingly zesty and dangerously easy to drink.
Pricing reflects the ambience and location
Dune Beach is on one of the most stunning stretches of sand in a central location, and the pricing is what you would expect from this type of venue. Starters are around €30, and the sharing mains sit at around €60, so it’s certainly not a budget lunch spot, but the quality of the ingredients, beautiful setting and atmosphere makes it ideal for a treat or special occasion.
If you are looking to escape the busier scenes of Puerto Banus and central Marbella, Dune is one where good food, sea air, delicious drinks and relaxed chilled vibes come together beautifully.
The restaurant is open every day Monday to Thursday from 11am to 6pm, Friday to Sunday from 11am to 8pm. Address is Avenida Cervantes S/N, Urb. Costa Bella, for more information visit the website or call +34 951 615 213
