Comedy theatre will be the star of the stage in Fuengirola later this month as the well loved Munoz Seca Municipal Theatre Group presents a charity festival of traditional Spanish skits held at the Casa de la Cultura.

The hilarious performances are scheduled for May 20, 21 and 22 at 8pm, with all proceeds from the final two evenings going to the incredible AFESOL Salud Mental, a local mental health association. Tickets cost €5 and became available to purchase at at the cultural venue.

Three comic productions to enjoy

Councillor Cristina Bornao gave high praise to the theatre company for continuing its long-running generous support of social causes through comedy performances organised with the department for older residents.

Director Conchi Pericet confirmed that audiences will see three humorous productions including, The Gynaecologist, We Are Nobody and King Tiburcio Seeks a Wife. Pericet encouraged residents to buy tickets quickly because previous productions by the company regularly sold out.

More than twenty years on stage

Munoz Seca Municipal Theatre Group has spent more than two decades performing comedy and short farces across the coast. Charity fundraising are an integral part of their work. Many of their productions support health and social organisations in Fuengirola and nearby towns.

Fuengirola Town Hall previously included the skit festival in its official 2026 theatre programme under the title Carrusel de sainetes, para no parar de reír, which translates roughly as “A carousel of comic sketches to keep you laughing nonstop”.

Those attending the performances can expect an evening of classic Spanish comic theatre while helping to raise money for local mental health services. Afesol is a worthy cause, they do amazing work supporting individuals and families suffering with mental health issues.

For more information about the event you can visit the Afesol social media channels or the Fuengirola town hall website.
