The force will be with Malaga as fans of Star Wars will delight as they will soon be able to step into a full-scale galactic experience after it was announced that El Corte Ingles will host one of Spain’s first immersive Star Wars shops.

Opening at the retailer’s Avenida de Andalucia branch in Malaga, the attraction arrives to coincide with the hotly anticipated cinema release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 21.

Tatooine theme brings the saga to Life

Fans of the films can get ready to be transported to another universe, way more than a standard merchandise area. Designers have created a 250-square-metre space inspired by Tatooine, easily one of the most recognised planets in the Star Wars universe. Giant character figures, detailed decorations and a large-scale sculpture of the Hutt twins perfectly recreate scenes familiar to long-time followers of the franchise.

Excitement around the project has already rippled across Spain because Malaga and Madrid are the only cities chosen for the launch. Malaga’s installation will be ready to welcome guests from Friday, May 29 until Saturday, June 6 during normal shopping hours.

Merchandise, games and family activities

Collectors will be able to browse and find official products from brands including LEGO, Hasbro, Funko and Simba. Editorial Planeta will provide books and publications linked to the saga. Organisers have also planned live demonstrations, competitions, games and prize draws throughout the event.

Children who get the chance to visit the Madrid venue will even help build a giant Grogu mural using LEGO bricks. Grogu, often called Baby Yoda by fans, is one of the franchise’s most popular modern characters thanks to the more recent success of The Mandalorian

The exhibition can be seen in the El Corte Ingles Malaga and Madrid branches. For more information and further details visit the website directly.
