Guitar virtuoso José Fernández, known to fans worldwide as Lito, is booked to deliver pure passion through timeless blues rhythms at an upcoming intimate performance in Torremolinos.

Multiple generations will unite in one powerful ensemble that traces the full evolution of the genre from its earliest roots right through to modern expressions.

Rich career spanning over six decades

Born in Malaga in 1953, this master guitarist launched his professional journey in the 1960s with local groups including El Buho, Gran Pamela, Conditional Freedom, Jamaica, Malaka, Tabletom and La Zarzamora alongside Manolo Galván. Lito founded his namesake band in 1989 and quickly earned acclaim across Andalucia and the rest of Spain with energetic shows that captured audiences everywhere.

International tours followed in 1991 and 1992 when he performed throughout Italy, Germany and Switzerland. Collaborations during this period featured Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones, Big Jack Johnson, Raimundo Amador, Richard Ray Farrell and Luther Allison. He also created a project with Henry Donjeany, guitarist for Aretha Franklin.

Return to Spanish stages and festival fame

Back home, Lito revived the Lito Blues Band and toured extensively across Spain. Memorable appearances include the XI Festival de Blues de Getxo in 1999 where he supported Mick Taylor, plus sets at Antequera Blues Festival, Cazorla Blues Festival, Cerdanyola Blues Festival, Salobreña Blues Festival and Malaga’s Teatro Cervantes.

Participation in the prestigious Cambayá Blues Reunión further cements his status among elite national figures such as Lolo Ortega, Tonky de la Peña, Zack Wilder, Raimundo Amador, Ñaco Goñi, Francisco Simon and Jeff Espinoza. Audiences can expect an unforgettable evening filled with emotional depth and technical brilliance from one of Spain’s foremost blues authorities.
