Residents of Frigiliana and surrounds are set to come together, both locals and expats, joining forces in a meaningful, unified community event dedicated to cancer awareness and patient aid. Frigiliana is again organising its popular charity initiative once again this coming Sunday, May 24.
Date and starting point for the charity event
Participants need to gather at 12pm on Sunday in Plaza de las Tres Culturas for the start of ‘Frigiliana en marcha contra el cáncer’. This charity walk brings together local people, community groups, and even holidaymakers in support of the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) Nerja branch. Everyone will be contributing through steps taken on the route while enjoying a positive and inclusive atmosphere focused on hope, mutual help and community.
Registration process and contribution details
Organisers have set a €10 charity registration fee with all proceeds going directly to AECC Nerja projects. People can sign up from Thursday, May 21, outside the local pharmacy or on the morning of the walk itself between 9am and 11am. This simple payment allows full participation in the full programme while making an immediate difference for families affected by cancer in the region.
The programme includes live performances and refreshments
Local music and dance groups will be donating their time and efforts to providing entertainment during and after the walk. A dedicated charity bar will be open throughout the day with all profits also directed to the AECC. The day will culminate in the serving of a massive communal paella for every registered participant as a gesture of thanks for their involvement.
Call to action from event organisers
Everyone in the area is encouraged to get involved and remember that every single step and every contribution adds real value in the fight against cancer. Frigiliana turns attention towards charity and practical support for those living with this condition and their loved ones. Many attendees return year after year because the event combines physical activity, social connection and genuine charitable impact in one memorable, huge morning.
This annual gathering continues to grow in popularity as word spreads about its friendly approach and clear focus on helping AECC deliver essential services. Families often attend together, creating lasting memories while promoting an important cause.
Anyone interested in cancer support initiatives or simply looking for a worthwhile community activity finds a warm welcome in Frigiliana this weekend. The combination of fresh air, local culture and collective generosity makes the day special for all ages.
