Veterinarian Michael Rackl has been sadly announced as deceased by animal rescue charity Triple A Marbella and San Pedro. The organisation shared a public tribute on May 17, stating he passed away after a short but serious illness.
Rackl had worked with Triple A for more than 10 years, according to the charity’s statement. The organisation said he served as a veterinary surgeon during that time and was involved in the treatment and care of animals at the shelter.
Tribute from Triple A Marbella and San Pedro
In its announcement, Triple A described Rackl as an “excellent surgeon” and stated that he had cared for a large number of animals during his work at the shelter. The post expressed condolences to his family, colleagues, friends and veterinary co-workers.
The charity also mentioned his colleague Kay, who worked closely with him at the shelter’s cat facility. Comments on the tribute post were disabled by the organisation for reasons of respect and reflection.
Role at the animal shelter
Triple A Marbella and San Pedro is an incredible animal rescue organisation based on the coast. The shelter is known for taking in abandoned and injured animals, providing veterinary treatment, and supporting adoption processes. At present there are sadly over 500 cats and dogs at the shelter looking to be cared for and rehomed.
According to the organisation, Rackl’s work formed part of the shelter’s veterinary operations over a period of more than a decade. His role involved surgical procedures and general veterinary care for animals at the facility.
Community response
The announcement of his death bought many messages of condolence from within the local animal welfare community. The charity’s statement was the primary public source of information regarding his passing and professional contribution at Triple A.
Thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
