Public operator VEIASA is contacting its regular customers due for compulsory vehicle technical inspections in July through text messages that recommend bringing appointments forward a little. This action will redistribute demand during the peak summer months. Vehicle owners can still keep the original expiry date for their subsequent inspection even when they complete the current check as much as 30 days earlier than planned.
Summer brings peak demand for vehicle inspections in Andalucia
June, July and August represent the busiest period at ITV stations throughout Andalucia. Close to one million inspections take place across these three months. July accounts for an expected total of around 400,000 checks across the region. Mobile ITV units in remote villages across Andalucia add more than 5,000 inspections to the overall figure. Drivers could benefit from planning ahead to maintain smooth travel plans during holidays.
July inspection numbers vary across Andalucian provinces
Provincial totals for July differ considerably, with Almeria expecting more than 31,000 vehicles, Cadiz over 52,000, Cordoba close to 39,000, Granada nearly 50,000, Huelva roughly 27,000, Jaen about 30,000, Malaga going over 80,000 and Seville above 81,000. And these numbers are only at fixed stations.
VEIASA recommends moving some July slots into June
The Andalucian public company VEIASA sends SMS messages advising drivers with July appointments to consider June instead wherever possible. Such a change will permit the high volume of work to spread between the two months. People who act now can avoid longer waits during the height of the holiday season. VEIASA falls under the authority of the regional ministry that covers industry, energy and mines.
Early inspections follow strict rules on validity periods
Regulations now allow technical inspections up to 30 days ahead of the scheduled date. The next inspection date stays exactly as originally planned. Drivers therefore suffer no reduction in the interval between successive checks.
Website offers easy access to ITV booking services
Drivers can manage their appointments via the official VEIASA site at itvcita.com. Those who use the website can also modify or cancel existing reservations at any station of their choice.
Selection of the earliest convenient slot becomes possible with a few clicks. This service helps people plan summer travel without stress from long queues at inspection centres.
