Secadero turns off its modern street lighting this Saturday, June 20, replacing it with a network of flame-lit pathways for the 2026 Noche en Vela, Candlelit night.
Locals and visitors can enjoy the beauty of a transformed village centre where traditional electric light gives way to an atmospheric grid of candlelit squares, live concert stages, and open-air food markets from 8pm
Organisers have adapted this year’s map to focus entirely on pedestrian-friendly zones, creating the perfect night time environment that balances family spaces with late-night performances.
Interactive youth zones and dining at Plaza de Andalucia
Plaza de Andalucia will be the main area for dining and children’s activities. Families can head to the dedicated youth zone to enjoy magic and comedy sets from Mago Luigi, they can also take part in interactive stations for wood crafts, Kumihimo weaving, face painting, temporary tattoos, glitter cosmetics and skills challenges. Food trucks will operate in the same square, serving meals continuously throughout the night.
Craft markets and sensory lighting installations
Calle Estepona handles the commercial side of the evening, setting up independent vendors for the annual artisan market. A short walk away, Plaza de la Mujer introduces a quieter element to the itinerary, hosting a specialized light art installation titled “Whispers of Light at Sunset”.
Midnight concert schedules at Plaza de la Paz
Plaza de la Paz will bring you the late-night music schedule, starting with traditional music before moving into more contemporary genres. Compas Flamenco opens the stage at 11pm, followed by rock specialists Rockologia at midnight, with DJ Pajaro hitting the desks to enjoy the decks into the early morning.
