How one Costa Blanca teenager is turning positivity into fashion with a dream born in Calpe's creative community

For many teenagers, free time is spent scrolling through social media or thinking about what comes next. But for one young resident living near Calpe, spare hours have become an opportunity to build something far bigger than a hobby. Armed with creativity, determination and an unwavering belief in the power of kindness, Skye has already begun turning a dream into reality.

Living in Xaló, just a short drive from Calpe, Skye is the founder and creative force behind Angelic, a clothing brand built around original artwork, graphic design and uplifting messages designed to brighten people’s day. While many fashion labels focus on trends, Angelic has a much simpler mission: to remind people that positivity still matters.

It is an ambition that has found fertile ground on the Costa Blanca, where the family has embraced a completely new life after relocating from the Netherlands two years ago.

A new beginning on the Costa Blanca

Moving country is never easy, especially for young people leaving behind friends, schools and familiar surroundings. Yet the decision to start a new chapter in Spain has proved transformative for Skye and his family.

Now settled in Xaló, surrounded by vineyards, mountains and picturesque villages, they have discovered a lifestyle that has given them the confidence to pursue new ambitions.

The family quickly fell in love with the welcoming atmosphere of the Marina Alta, where communities such as Calpe, Jalón, Benissa and Dénia have become home to people from across Europe looking for a better quality of life.

For Skye, the move offered something equally valuable: the space to be creative.

His mother says the Costa Blanca has given the family the opportunity to follow their dreams.

“We love the Costa Blanca community because people are so welcoming and the lifestyle is relaxed,” she explained. “Living here has given our family the opportunity to start a new chapter and pursue our dreams.”

While Skye has an older brother and sister who remain in the Netherlands, the family’s new life in Spain has become the perfect environment for his growing business.

Turning creativity into a clothing brand

Skye’s passion for creativity began long before Angelic existed. Always interested in drawing, design and creating original artwork, he wanted to build something entirely his own rather than simply follow existing trends. That ambition became Angelic.

Every design featured on the clothing starts with Skye’s own ideas. He creates the artwork and graphics himself, carefully choosing messages that encourage optimism, resilience and self-belief. Rather than relying on slogans designed simply to attract attention, each piece reflects his belief that words have the power to influence how people feel.

In a world where bad news often dominates headlines and social media feeds can become overwhelming, he hopes his clothing offers something refreshingly different. For Skye, fashion is more than something people wear. It can also be a way to spread encouragement. He believes that even a simple positive message seen by a stranger in the street can lift someone’s mood or remind them that they are capable of more than they realise.

Dreaming big

Like many young entrepreneurs, Skye has no intention of stopping where he is. His dream is to see Angelic grow into a recognised fashion brand that reaches customers far beyond the Costa Blanca.

One day, he hopes retailers will actively want to stock his clothing, allowing his positive designs to reach people across Spain and beyond. Rather than measuring success purely by sales, however, Skye talks about impact.

His goal is to inspire kindness, confidence and hope through every collection he creates. If someone smiles because of one of his designs, feels encouraged by a message on a T-shirt or gains a little more confidence during a difficult day, then he believes Angelic has already achieved something worthwhile.

It is an unusually thoughtful vision from a young entrepreneur whose focus extends well beyond business.

Inspiration close to home

The Marina Alta has quietly become a place where creative people, entrepreneurs and independent businesses flourish.

From artists exhibiting in galleries across Calpe and Jávea to local markets showcasing handmade products and designers launching small brands online, the region encourages people to pursue their passions.

For young people growing up here, those examples can be incredibly powerful. Skye’s story shows that age does not have to be a barrier to starting something meaningful. With imagination, persistence and support from family, it is possible to transform an idea into a genuine business.

His journey is also a reminder of why so many international families choose to make the Costa Blanca their home. Beyond the sunshine and scenery lies a supportive community where new beginnings are welcomed and ambitions are encouraged. For Skye, Angelic is still only at the beginning of its story.

But every design he creates carries the same message that inspired the brand from the start: kindness matters, positivity is contagious and believing in yourself can be the first step towards achieving something extraordinary.

Whether Angelic eventually appears in shops around the world or remains a proudly independent success story born on the Costa Blanca, Skye has already accomplished something remarkable. He has shown that one young person’s creativity, combined with a simple desire to make people smile, can become the foundation for a dream that is only just getting started.
