Two children die in Costa del Sol house fire as mother fights for her life

A devastating house fire has claimed the lives of two children on Spain’s Costa del Sol, leaving their mother in a serious condition in hospital.

Emergency services were called to an apartment building  on Thursday 30 in Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmádena, after flames broke out and rapidly spread between the third and fourth floors. Despite the efforts of firefighters and paramedics, two siblings, aged 10 and 15, could not be saved.

Their mother was rescued from the blaze and taken to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
