Pedreguer hosts two-week cultural conference featuring workshops, literature, and live performances

The town of Pedreguer is set to celebrate a rich fortnight of arts, literature, and community heritage. From Saturday, August 22 to Sunday, September 6, the municipality will host the 6th edition of the Cultural Conference, organised by the Fundació Família Costa i Costa. Fostering local culture and encouraging engagement across all generations, this multi-week programme will bring together a vibrant array of artistic disciplines, including musical recitals, theatrical performances, hands-on creative workshops, and literary exhibitions.

A fortnight dedicated to local arts and heritage: Literature and illustration take centre stage

A central highlight of this year’s schedule is the celebration of regional literature and creative arts, supported by local publishing house Edicions del Bullent. On Friday, August 28, author Quico Llopis will present his work Gent de carro, offering attendees an immersive look into traditional rural life, heritage, and stories connected to the historical cart-driving community.

The literary seminars will continue on Friday, September 4, when artist and author Anna Roig Llabata leads an interactive drawing workshop based on her children’s book Cinc en un llit. This activity provides younger audiences and families a creative space to explore storytelling through visual art and illustration.

In addition to these sessions, the wider schedule features live performances and educational activities, highlighting regional talent and promoting local art. A concert by local artist Júlia and adult theatre performances will be among the highlights of the vibrant two-week schedule of activities.
