It’s back, Birra & Art Festival returns to La Cala this August

Craft beer and foody favourite is back, as La Cala de Mijas prepares to pour, drink and dance in it’s four-day festival celebrating craft brewing, local music, and international food.
Summer celebration heading to La Cala boulevard
Town hall officials have officially launched the third annual edition of the popular Birras & Art Festival, bringing an electric four-day gathering to the boulevard car park in La Cala de Mijas. Running daily from Thursday, August 20 through Sunday, August 23 between 7pm and 1am, admission is entirely free for all attendees.
Extraordinary craft brews and rare international flavours
Drinkers can look forward to exploring an impressive line-up featuring 35 active draught taps with more than 30 unique bottled and canned options. These are no mass-produced commercial lagers, the taps will flow with rare artisanal craft beers and premium international imports that are virtually impossible to find on standard bar menus. Organisers explain that the initiative has steadily grown and evolved over time, giving visitors the opportunity to taste extraordinary varieties while supporting independent brewing masters.
Mouth-watering street food and lively evening entertainment
Food stalls setup across the parking area will satisfy big appetites with an explosive selection of global street food dishes. Guests can feast on traditional German sausages, sizzled open-flame grills, classic Mexican tacos, and diverse Latin American specialities throughout each night.
The evenings won’t be without sound, live stage performances will keep you moving and entertained well into the early hours. This years line up features an array of talented vocalists and musicians.
Thursday, August 20: Local favourite Mami Curl opens at 8pm, followed by Blue Solis at 10pm.
Friday, August 21: DJ Galiano gets the crowd moving at 8pm before rock outfit The Killer Rockets take over at 10pm.
Saturday, August 22: DJ Galiano returns at 8, setting up Mami Curl & Co. at 10pm.
Sunday 23 August: DJ Galiano spins tracks at 8pm ahead of acclaimed homage act Queen of Magic at 10pm.
