A striking convoy will be heading from Marbella to Madrid this September, all to support vulnerable families and children
What is the Cash & Rocket Spain Tour
Hollywood star Eva Longoria and Global Gift Foundation founder Maria Bravo are fronting the campaign, which will see fifty influential women get behind the wheel of twenty-five red cars for a four-day fundraising expedition across four Spanish cities. Named the Cash & Rocket Spain Tour, the journey covers more than 600 kilometres between September 10 and 13, starting in Marbella and finishing in Madrid, with stops in Seville and Toledo along the way.
Danish entrepreneur Julie Brangstrup created the initiative in 2011, and it has since grown into a global network of businesswomen, philanthropists, athletes and creatives who use their visibility to support women, children and families in need. According to organisers, the platform has generated more than $6.8 million since its first edition in 2012 and now counts over 2,800 members worldwide.
No supercar required to join the convoy
Despite the glamorous image of Ferraris lining up on Spanish motorways, Brangstrup insists driving a luxury model is not a requirement for taking part. “You don’t need to have or drive a luxury car to be part of the caravan,” she explained, adding that electric vehicles, small city cars and classic models have shared the road with sports cars and hypercars in previous editions.
Spanish marque Ebro, sponsor of the national football team, will also feature in this year’s line-up, driven by both Spanish and international participants. For Brangstrup, mixing brands and driver profiles reflects what the initiative stands for: bringing different worlds together around a common purpose.
A packed itinerary from Marbella to the Madrid Grand Prix
Festivities begin on Thursday, September 10 with registration at Claude’s Bar in Marbella, followed by a padel tournament and press conference at Puente Romano, lunch at Antonio Banderas’ restaurant El Pimpi, and an evening celebration at La Plaza.
Friday’s leg takes the caravan to Seville for a press event at Plaza de America, lunch at Hotel Alfonso XIII and a horse-drawn carriage ride through the city before dinner at Casa Ozama. Saturday’s route runs through Trujillo to Toledo, where a panel discussion at Palacio Buenavista precedes a garden dinner.
Sunday’s grand finale will see a police-escorted arrival in Madrid, a press conference with the city’s mayor, a visit to Maison Van Cleef & Arpels and attendance at the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix at Madring. A red-carpet reception at Casino de Madrid and a closing gala dinner with a live auction and musical performances round off the tour.
Famous faces behind the wheel
Previous editions have attracted names including Paris Hilton, Ashley Graham, Emma Thompson, Jodie Kidd and Nieves Alvarez. Under the slogan “Let’s Drive the Change,” this year’s Spanish leg marks the first time Cash & Rocket has run two annual global tours, following a US edition through Charleston, Jacksonville, Palm Beach and Miami earlier this year. Both national tours were deliberately timed to coincide with Formula 1 weekends, aiming to bring more women into motorsport and automotive culture.
