Santa Pola residents and visitors can enjoy dinner beside the sea beneath the summer moon when the popular Full Moon Dinner returns on Friday, August 28.

Now in its 19th year, the event begins at 8:00 PM along the Vicealmirante Blanco Garcia promenade in Santa Pola del Este.

Hundreds of people are expected to gather around long rows of tables, bringing their own food and enjoying an evening with family, friends and neighbours beside the Mediterranean.

Dinner under the summer moon

A table with six chairs costs €25, with proceeds going to local charity Cielo de Colores.

Rather than a conventional organised meal, those attending bring their own food and make an evening of it, creating a large communal dinner along the promenade.

The event has become a popular Santa Pola summer tradition and provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to spend an evening outdoors while also supporting a local cause.

Reservations can be made by WhatsApp on (+34) 626 556 205 from August 17 to 26, between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with payment by Bizum.

Telescopes offer a closer look at the night sky

There will be plenty happening besides dinner.

The local Astronomical Association will set up telescopes during the evening, giving visitors the chance to take a closer look at the moon and night sky from the seafront.

The astronomical activity adds an extra dimension to an event already inspired by spending a summer evening beneath the moon.

Children will also have their own entertainment, with activities organised by Fem Art during the gathering.

Music and dancing beside the sea

Entertainment will continue throughout the evening, with Rosa Rosinha performing dances inspired by the sea as she makes her way along the tables.

Amigos de Rusadir will add to the atmosphere with bagpipes and flutes during the dinner, bringing live music to the promenade as guests enjoy their food.

The evening will finish with a dance show, providing a lively conclusion to the 19th edition of the event.

With dinner beside the Mediterranean, live entertainment, children’s activities and the chance to explore the night sky through telescopes, the Full Moon Dinner offers another opportunity to make the most of a warm August evening in Santa Pola.

The event begins at 8:00 PM on Friday, August 28, along the Vicealmirante Blanco Garcia promenade in Santa Pola del Este.
