Karaoke, cold beer and a cause that could change a dogs life at Bar Pueblo Benalmadena

A charity night for the town’s dog shelter

Bar Pueblo will host a charity night from 8pm on Friday, August 28, with proceeds going to Asociacion Fidelio, the town’s refuge for abandoned dogs. Guests will be treated to an evening jam packed full of music, karaoke and entertainment from Pablo Petri.

Benalmadena Pueblo Info, the community page behind the announcement, is marking an incredible three years of keeping residents informed and thanked followers for their support. Its post noted that Fidelio has been allowed to stay operational until new premises are ready, a process it said could take a while, and asked people to come along and help if they can.

Years of caring for Benalmadena’s dogs

Fidelio has cared for stray and abandoned dogs in the area for more than 35 years, run by volunteers and funded through donations rather than council grants. Around 30 dogs currently live at the shelter, including a mix of podencos and mastiffs.

Legally constituted in November 1998, Fidelio is registered with the Andalucian Register of Associations. Its own website describes the charity as entirely voluntary. Visitors can call in between 10:30am and 2:30pm, and the shelter opens every single day of the year. Funding comes solely from donations and organised events, which makes fundraisers such as Friday’s night at Bar Pueblo especially important to its running costs, which include veterinary bills, food and upkeep of the premises. Fidelio also accepts direct donations by bank transfer and PayPal for those who cannot attend in person.

Very easy, just come long and enjoy yourself. Residents and visitors are invited to attend Bar Pueblo on the night for music, karaoke and entertainment in support of the shelter. Those unable to attend can donate directly through Fidelio’s social media pages.
