Love Island stars choose iconic Mallorca landmark for lavish wedding

Mallorca has once again found itself in the celebrity spotlight after Love Island stars Molly Smith and Tom Clare chose the island for their lavish second wedding celebration.

The couple, who won the first series of Love Island: All Stars in 2024, brought around 70 family members and friends to the spectacular Son Marroig estate between Deià and Valldemossa for their big day.

The clifftop setting, with its famous Carrara marble pavilion overlooking the Mediterranean, provided a spectacular backdrop as Smith walked down the aisle in a strapless white gown and long veil. Clare opted for a white dinner jacket and black bow tie.

Several familiar Love Island faces were among the guests, including Sophie Piper, Josh Ritchie and Mitch Taylor, while Casey O’Gorman served as Clare’s best man.

From the villa to the altar

Smith and Clare’s relationship began on the first series of Love Island: All Stars, filmed in South Africa in 2024. Both had already appeared on the main show, with Smith taking part in series six in 2020 and Clare appearing in series nine in 2023.

They hit it off when they met on All Stars and went on to win the series and its £50,000 prize.

Their romance continued away from the cameras, with Clare proposing during a romantic trip to Dubai in September 2025.

The couple officially married in the UK in July in a smaller ceremony before travelling to Mallorca for their much bigger celebration with family and friends.

A fitting Love Island destination

There is something particularly fitting about two Love Island stars choosing Mallorca to celebrate their wedding.

The island has been at the heart of the British reality show’s identity for years and remains its summer home in 2026. The current villa is near Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, while the show has used several different Mallorcan locations over the years.

For millions of British viewers, Mallorca is therefore almost as synonymous with Love Island as the famous firepit, terrace and bombshell entrances.

Although Smith and Clare actually met while filming the All Stars spin-off in South Africa, choosing Mallorca for their wedding gives their Love Island story a particularly fitting full-circle feel.

The island has been the backdrop to countless romances, break-ups and dramatic recouplings. Now, one of the show’s most successful couples has returned to Mallorca for a very different kind of happy ending.

Mallorca’s celebrity wedding appeal

Smith and Clare are also following a long line of famous names who have chosen Mallorca for their big day.

Hollywood actress Joey King married filmmaker Steven Piet at La Fortalesa in Pollença in 2023, with the spectacular celebration later making headlines after pop star Sabrina Carpenter revealed that she had secretly performed at the wedding.

The island has also attracted footballing royalty, such as Real Madrid and Spain star Marco Asensio who married Sandra Garal at La Fortalesa.

The appeal is easy to understand. Mallorca offers dramatic mountain scenery, turquoise Mediterranean waters, historic estates and luxury venues, all within a relatively short flight from the UK.

For celebrity couples, it also offers something increasingly valuable: the ability to create an event that feels spectacular while retaining an element of privacy.

For Smith and Clare, Son Marroig delivered all of that, with the dramatic setting providing a picture-perfect backdrop for photographs shared with their huge social media following.

The island that has become synonymous with Love Island has now provided the backdrop for one of the show’s most recognisable couples to celebrate their wedding.
