Petanca players take aim for Orihuela children’s home charity fundraiser

Petanca players and spectators are invited to Rocajuna on Saturday, September 12, for a charity competition raising money for the San Jose Obrero children’s home in Orihuela.

The Las Salinas Mixed Triples Charity Competition starts at 10:00 AM, with players asked to arrive by 9:30 AM.

Las Salinas charity competition welcomes up to 32 teams

Entry is open to players who have taken part in either the Las Salinas Winter or Summer League.

Teams can register up to four players, with three playing at any one time, and entry costs €15 per team. A maximum of 32 teams can take part in the competition.

Anyone who does not play petanca can still go along to watch the action and support the fundraising efforts throughout the day.

A charity tombola will be held during the event, with proceeds going to the children’s home, while a bar and barbecue will also be available at the Rocajuna pistes.

Fundraising total for San Jose Obrero passes €3,000

The Las Salinas Petanca League has chosen San Jose Obrero as its charity for the 2025/26 season and has already raised €3,014 through its activities.

The September competition will add to that total, with all team registration fees and money raised through the tombola going directly to the charity.

The event gives league players another opportunity to enjoy a day of competition while supporting the children’s home, with spectators also encouraged to attend and contribute to the fundraising.

With a maximum of 32 teams able to participate, anyone planning to compete is encouraged to secure a place ahead of the event.

The competition takes place at Rocajuna Petanca Club, Calle Los Obispos 21-43, 03185 Torrevieja.

Players should arrive by 9:30 AM ahead of the 10:00 AM start, while spectators do not need to register and can simply go along on the day.

With petanca, a tombola, barbecue and fundraising all on the programme, the event will provide another opportunity for the Las Salinas community to add to the money already raised for San Jose Obrero.
