Love to Sing International Community Choir is back after its summer break, ready to fill halls from Manilva to Estepona and Sotogrande with popular songs while raising cash for local good causes. Weekly rehearsals start again on Wednesday 9 September at 7pm in Sabinillas. Anyone who enjoys a good sing-along and can commit to regular practice will find a warm welcome.

Night of Magical Music at CIVIMA Theatre

Friday, October 2, sees the choir’s annual fundraiser at CIVIMA Theatre in Manilva. Doors open at 7pm, and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Expect a night of well-known numbers from films and musicals, split into two halves: first “The Good”, then “The Amusing & Bad”. Tickets cost €10 and every euro goes towards the Children’s Christmas Appeal run by the Duquesa Charitable Society of St George. That appeal puts together Christmas packages for local children whose families are finding things tight this year. For over eight years Love to Sing and its audiences have already raised thousands of euros for the same cause. Organisers hope this year’s turnout will be just as generous.

Tickets are on sale at The Bookshop in Sabinillas (+34 952 89 15 45), Experience Group in Benavista (+34 659 772 448) or directly from Maggie on +34 628 163 977.

Packed diary through to Christmas Eve

October and November bring two concerts at the Mirador del Carmen Auditorium in Estepona. November also includes a Remembrance Day event in Sabinillas. Later in the season the choir appears at Restaurante Fresco Marina in Sotogrande Port and Santa Ana Church in Manilva.

Everything wraps up in the usual festive fashion with the popular Under the Arches Christmas Eve carols at Duquesa Port. All these dates help local charities and other deserving projects. Readers who followed earlier Love to Sing dates in Estepona or Casares will recognise the same mix of music and community support.

Open evening for singers who can commit

Love to Sing is looking for experienced singers who can attend weekly rehearsals and feel comfortable on stage with everyone else. An open evening for anyone interested takes place on Wednesday, September 16, at 7pm at the EDUFY Municipal Gym, Calle Cordoba, Sabinillas.

Come along, meet the group and hear how music, friendship and fundraising fit together. More details from Maggie on +34 628 163 977 or the choir’s Facebook page Love2SingCDS.

Great music, good company and money going where it is needed – that has been the choir’s formula since it started. Another busy season is already taking shape across the western Costa del Sol.
