Dust off the leather jacket Benalmadena, as you are about to get seriously loud. Festival of Legends is bringing two nights of tribute rock this September, a proper excuse for a weekend out for anyone who grew up with a guitar poster on their bedroom wall.

Festival de Rock lands on September 12 and 13. The Festival of Legends series are teaming up with Opera Benalmadena for what looks to be a raucous double bill. Doors open at 7.30pm each night, with the music kicking off at 8.30pm, giving punters plenty of time to grab a drink before the first chord hits.

Saturday: Red Zeppelin vs KISS experience

Kicking things off on Saturday is the Red Zeppelin vs KISS Experience, matching one of rock’s founding fathers with the band that turned live music into a full-blown spectacle. Led Zeppelin’s set brings the long guitar solos and Robert Plant wail everyone remembers from their dad’s record collection, while KISS goes the other way entirely, iconic face paint, platform boots and enough theatrics to make it feel more like a rock circus than a gig. Both acts come properly kitted out in costume for a full recreation.

Sunday: Bon Jovi Bad Name vs AC/DC tribute

Sunday hands the stage to the Bon Jovi Bad Name Tribute Band followed by an AC/DC tribute act, swapping Saturday’s theatrics for big, arm-in-the-air choruses and gritty, no-nonsense riffs. Fans can enjoy exciting renditions of the classic tunes that get entire pubs bellowing along on karaoke night, the kind of combination made for singing badly and not caring who hears, ideal for rounding off a rock-filled weekend on a high note.

Pop it in your diary and grab a ticket

Tickets start from €20 plus booking fee, bookable online through Opera Benalmadena’s official site or by phone on 633 647 260. Booking early is recommended for these popular shows. Grab a drink and get ready to rock.
