Benalmadena’s famous Castle Bil-Bil to become a fashion catwalk for two-night event

Benalmadena Moda returns this September with two evenings of catwalks, local shopping, established designers and new talent. Fashion will take over two of Benalmadena’s best-known locations this month when Benalmadena Moda 2026 will be back for its fourth year.

Catwalks will be held on Friday, September 18, at Plaza de la Mezquita in Arroyo de la Miel, before the event moves to the recently restored Castillo El Bil Bil in Benalmadena Costa on Saturday, September 19.

Both evenings will begin with reception and a photocall at 7.30pm, followed by the fashion shows at 8pm.

Local shops and young designers take centre stage

Friday’s event at Plaza de la Mezquita will focus particularly on local businesses and new designers. Menta Moda, Noelia Noelia, Zerimar, The Times Shop, Flamenca Florido, Imalu and Miguel Miglionico are among the names taking part. A New Designers Competition will also give Irene Villalobos, Teresa Perujo, Manuela Di Croce and Maria José Perujo the chance to present their work.

Saturday’s programme moves to the distinctive Castillo El Bil Bil, where José Perea, Sofía Santini, Laura Ortiz, Esteban Freiría and Hassan Bouchikhi will present their designs. Sustainability and innovation will also feature, with awards being presented during the second evening.

Benalmadena Moda has become an annual event

This is not a one-off fashion weekend for the Costa del Sol town. Benalmadena Moda began in 2023 and the 2026 event will be its fourth edition. Previous years have featured a mixture of local retailers, established names and new designers, with the organisers also using the event to promote new talent.

More than 200 people attended the 2025 event, which included a young designer award and prizes for sustainability and innovation. The previous event was held at Plaza de Andalucia in Benalmadena Pueblo and the Casa de la Cultura in Arroyo de la Miel.

This year’s decision to use Plaza de la Mezquita and Castillo El Bil Bil gives the fashion weekend a different setting, particularly for Saturday night. Castillo El Bil Bil has also recently undergone a major renovation, with the town hall investing more than €800,000 in improvements to the building, accessibility, energy efficiency and visitor facilities.

Fashion, music and local business

Music and live performances will form part of both evenings. Ana Romma will perform on Friday, while Saturday’s programme includes guitarist Adrián Ariza, singer Manuel Palomares and dancer Lorena Gavilán.

Benalmadena Council says the event is intended to support local commerce while creating activity for restaurants and other businesses in the town. For visitors, it also provides an opportunity to see fashion presented in two very different parts of Benalmadena, from the busy Plaza de la Mezquita in Arroyo de la Miel to the recently renovated Castillo El Bil Bil beside the coast.

Benalmadena Moda 2026 takes place on Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19, with both fashion shows starting at 8pm.
