Fashion fans delight as ten years of glamour arrives to Estepona this week, where the town’s biggest style event celebrates an anniversary with catwalk shows, rising design talent and a cash prize that could launch a career.

A decade of style, back where it all began

Estepona Fashion Week opens its tenth edition on September 23, and runs through to September 26 at Parque Orquidario, the very venue where the event first launched a decade ago. Organisers chose the botanical park deliberately for this anniversary edition, bringing the catwalk full circle after several years of shows staged elsewhere around town.

Artistic direction falls once again to Los Juanchys and stylist Miguel Toledo, the creative team behind the event since its earliest years. Their vision brings together local shops, national designers and professional models across four consecutive nights, with shows starting at around 8pm each evening.

What’s on show

Collections spanning clothing, beauty and accessories for the Autumn-Winter season will feature across the four days, with local businesses taking the runway before designers travel in from across Spain.

Saturday, September 26 brings the week’s biggest draw: the seventh Estepona de Moda Young Designers Contest, known locally as EDM. Eight finalists, chosen from applicants aged between 18 and 35 who were born in Spain or can prove Spanish residency or study, will each present six looks on the Orquidario runway.

Judges from within the fashion industry will assess originality, craftsmanship and creativity before crowning a winner. First place takes home 1,000 euros and a trophy, second place receives 500 euros, and third place earns 300 euros, with five further finalists collecting 200-euro consolation prizes. Applications closed on August 31, giving the panel weeks to narrow down entries from around the country. Several previous winners have gone on to work with national brands after their Estepona debut.

Full programme details and daily designer line-ups are available through Estepona Town Hall’s official cultural agenda website .
