A local charity is calling on residents across the Costa Calida to lend a helping hand, as it looks to recruit new volunteers for its outlet in San Javier. HELP Murcia Mar Menor, a local non-profit organisation supporting people in need across the region, has launched an appeal for volunteers to join its friendly team at the HELP Outlet in the coastal Murcia municipality. Whether volunteers are able to contribute only a few hours a week or commit to a more regular schedule, the charity is accepting any and every interested neighbour who wants to help out.
Volunteers wanted in San Javier: Make a difference with HELP Murcia Mar Menor
Based on Avenida de la Union in San Javier, the outlet raises funds for the charity’s work by selling donated clothing, household items and furniture to support its community programmes and projects. These funds help the organisation continue providing essential services, including the loan of mobility equipment, like wheelchairs, walking aids and mobility scooters, to those who need them in the community.
No experience necessary to help out
Volunteers at the outlet take on a variety of dynamic roles, from serving customers and organising donations to sorting and displaying items in store. There are also opportunities to assist with collections and deliveries.
No previous experience is required to get involved. Instead, the charity is looking for people with a positive attitude, reliability and above all, a willingness to contribute to a good cause. The charity will provide a full onboarding process and guidance, making sure volunteers have everything they need to start making a difference in the community.
Supporting the community through donations and volunteer help
Founded in 2002, HELP Murcia Mar Menor has spent more than two decades supporting vulnerable individuals and families across the region, relying heavily on donations and volunteer support to sustain its work.
Volunteering at HELP Murcia Mar Menor, or at other charities in the area, also offers a social benefit, giving participants the chance to meet new people and become part of a welcoming community. Those interested in getting involved are encouraged to contact the charity directly through their website, helpmurciamarmenor.es, or visit the outlet in San Javier to find out more about how they can contribute.
“You’ll be joining a lovely team, meeting new people and, most importantly, helping HELP support worthwhile causes within our local community,” stated the charity on the appeal.
